Silent Cries of Corona Despair Syndrome

WHAT NEXT? HOW WILL I SURVIVE? WILL I GET A JOB? DO I HAVE A FUTURE?

It is so heart breaking to see the number of people loosing jobs during these couple of months. 2020 has taken an unprecedented turns of events that literally shook the foundations of trust that we had on organizations, our skills, our bank balance, people who we counted on, our job, friends, etc. Now we have reached a place where we are running short of shoulder to cry on. Every shoulder is now drooped, every eyes teared, every pillow wet with silent cries. What are we facing? What are we going through? Many of us are the breadwinners of our family. Many of you are the father figures at home or among friends or work place. You have to put up your brave face and speak things that you are starting to doubt to your family and children with conviction. How am I going to live today? How am I going to survive tomorrow?

I am reminded of a story in the Bible from Mark 6:14 to 29. It is a very interesting event, please read if you possibly can. This is how John the Baptist died. King Herod really respected John the Baptist. It is mentioned in verses 20 “for Herod feared John, knowing that he was a righteous and holy man, and he kept him safe.” Other translations writes ‘he protected him’. By the time we reach verse 27 it is written that 27 And immediately the king sent an executioner with orders to bring John’s head. He went and beheaded him in the prison

You know this portion we might have read or heard hundreds of times but have you really noticed how someone who protected John was the one who beheaded him? The most powerful authority in a land is the king and he has in his ability to protect anyone he likes. But look at this! He himself killed the one who he wanted to protect!

bungeeToday when I read this I realized the people, system, bank balance, skills, organizations, family, friends who ever you are putting your trust to protect you is insufficient to protect you. You yourself might be protecting someone else. But you know you are not enough. There are things that are beyond human. People can change, situations can change, change is inevitable. But if you need to trust someone He has to be someone who never changes His ability to protect. And that is only God. Bible says He is the same yesterday, today and forever. If you can trust your skills, if you can trust the bed you sleep on, if you can place your trust on the hair stylist, if you can trust the school for you children, if you can trust the fan that’s over your head, if you can trust the rope for bungee jumping, if you can trust these things why don’t you try trusting God?

Let me request you today. As you are facing struggles in your life start putting your trust in Jesus. He never leaves you He never forsakes you. He strengthens you and you can do all things through Christ Who gives you strength.

Take one day at a time. Trust in God. Trust in His promises. If you think Bible is filled with impossible, irrational stories, that is so obvious a reason why you should trust God. He is the One who can do the impossible miracle in your life.

Praying for you

Blessings …. g
